The Alsace region is located on the upper east side of France. It borders Germany and seats west to river Rhine. To the South, Alsace borders the German-speaking side of Switzerland. To the west it neighbors France’s Lorraine region and the Vosges Mountains.
The best-known city in Alsace is its capital city, Strasbourg, home to the European Parliament. The second one is the smaller medieval town of Colmar with its beautifully preserved pedestrian center.
